Registration Fees Released For 2020
Football Brisbane has officially released the Association’s levies for the 2020 season, seeing player registration fees remain fixed for a fifth consecutive year. The zone is pleased to announce that there will be no increase for the Football Brisbane component per player (see below table), ensuring clubs and players alike continue to participate in Football Brisbane competitions at a steady and consistent price point. Each club will be required to pay a nominal $100.00 fee to affiliate to Football Brisbane each season prior to the club being accepted into competitions.
The 2020 season will also see the removal of the Referee Development Levy and the introduction of a ‘Per Team’ affiliation cost. This will encourage a ‘user paid’ model and only to those teams and clubs which enter and play in Football Brisbane competitions. It is also a better representation of the resources required to service each ‘team’ and ‘club’ as opposed to the fee being based on the club’s highest ranked team.
MiniRoos teams will not encounter a per team cost, and the governing bodies, insurance and competition administration total costs for a MiniRoos player in 2020 will remain at just $70.00. Football Brisbane is further committed to delivering our continued media coverage across all Senior Competitions and the Media Levy is also unchanged for Season 2020, in line with our club’s expectations.
Football Brisbane’s Competitions Manager Dan Birrell reiterated the sentiments around these registration levies saying, “We are acutely aware of the rising costs to participate in both junior and competitive sport around Australia and can confidently and comfortably attest that we have taken on that feedback from our clubs, stakeholders and players alike." He added, "We have kept registration costs fixed for season 2020 in line with the expectations placed on us by our clubs and look forward to continue collaborating with our clubs throughout the impending season”. Speaking in regards to the ‘per team’ nomination fee, Mr Birrell said, “We are committed to adequately and equitably distributing ours and each clubs’ resources across the region and our community and this ensures we can provide that. It allows smaller clubs to remain sustainable, whilst collectively the costs across our clubs are now fairly distributed”.
