Football is a game enjoyed by millions around the world. People of all ages love watching and participating, whether it's enjoying the professional leagues around the planet or heading to our local grassroots community clubs. Sadly though, this enjoyment is being ruined by an alarming increase in the number of incidents being reported at grassroots level across our zone. Abuse and threats directed towards referees from players, coaches, spectators. Abuse on the field between players including homophobic and racial slurs. Abuse from the sidelines from parents and coaches. We don't want to quash the enthusiasm and passion for the game that we all have. But abuse of any kind must stop so that our players, our referees and our coaches alike are not turned away from the game because of it.
