Pig 'N' Whistle Canale Cup & Elaine Watson Cup Draws
The draws for the next rounds of the Pig 'N' Whistle Canale Cup and Elaine Watson Cup were made today at Football Brisbane's Logan Football Complex HQ. In the Pig 'N' Whistle Canale Cup, the RD3 draw features the last 16 sides in the competition with three all Brisbane Men's Premier League clashes ahead. Lone Vilic Law Capital League 3 side Springfield Utd face a stiff away trip to The Lakes FC for a spot in the quarter finals whilst current cup holders Grange Thistle will continue the defence of their title at home to Vilic Law Capital League 1 leaders AC Carina, who disposed of BPL side Centenary Stormers in RD2. In the Elaine Watson Cup, it was the quarter final draw for the last 8. Reigning champions Peninsula Power must head to the west to take on Ipswich City at Sutton Park whilst the draw was kind to both Gold Coast clubs from the Mt Franklin Brisbane Women's Premier League that are still in the cup, with Robina City home to the winner of The Lakes v North Brisbane (being played next week) and Broadbeach Utd home to Women's Capital League 1 side Southside Eagles. North Star or Albany Creek, being played this evening to decide the winner, will host Virginia United. Here is the Quarter Final draw:
