Pig 'N' Whistle Cup & Elaine Watson Cup RD1 Draw
The first round draw of both the Pig 'N' Whistle Canale Cup and Elaine Watson Cup were carried earlier today at Football Brisbane HQ. The Pig 'N' Whistle Canale Cup draw was made up of the 35 Vilic Law Capital League clubs with 5 byes drawn first, followed by 15 ties, to be played in two weeks time. The 5 byes and 15 winners will be joined in RD2 by the 12 Brisbane Men's Premier League clubs for a round of 32 knockout. A couple of intriguing match-ups emerged from today's draw with undoubtedly the pick of the bunch being between both RD5 FFA Cup combatants Logan Metro FC and Brisbane Athletic. Metro stretching NPL side Moreton Bay United all the way with a narrow 1-0 loss on Tuesday night, proving they are a real force this season; whilst Athletic head to Whites Hill Reserve this evening to face FQPL side Holland Park Hawks for a spot in RD6. Both sides meeting in the Pig 'N' Whistle Canale Cup opening round will make for a scintillating clash. Here are the RD1 byes and ties as drawn earlier.
