Football Brisbane Welcomes New Elected Directors To Board

Football Brisbane would like to welcome newly Elected Directors Mr Pete Muir and Ms Zoe Bickerstaffe to the Football Brisbane Board. These positions were made recently vacant following the resignations of Mr Roger McIntosh and Mr Michael Bailey. With a very hands-on role at Toowong FC, Mr Muir comes onto the Board of Directors with a broad knowledge and insight into the day to day operations of a growing community club. Mr Muir said of his appointment, "I nominated to join the Football Brisbane Board as I believe the combination of my professional and community experiences will provide a unique offering with regard to ensuring that support is in place to allow all clubs to grow sustainably and that they get the best support to improve their facilities (key for the ongoing growth of the game). He added, "Every club should have ambition to grow and improve the quality of the game, and I hope to be able to contribute to the best governance that will allow this to occur with the maximum community support." Ms Bickerstaffe was previously an Appointed Director but now becomes an Elected Director to fill the remaining vacant Director position. Football Brisbane Chairman, Jeremy Medina said of these appointments, "The Board are very excited to announce the appointment of Zoe and Pete to the open Elected Director positions." On Ms Bickerstaffe's appointment he said, "Zoe has worked with the Board for the last 12 months as an Appointed Director. She has been an active participant across all board matters and has provided substantial insight and knowledge about the women's game during this time." Mr Medina added, "Pete comes to us with a recognised wealth of club operations knowledge and the deep understanding of the challenges operating in this environment that face ALDI MiniRoos up to first team players.
