Football Brisbane wishes to extend condolences to the family of former referee Dieter Klose who recently passed away. At his peak, the Brisbane based referee was recognised as being one of the nation’s top match officials and was well respected by the clubs and players. He has held many positions in the referees federation and was a life member of the Australian Soccer Referees Federation. Dieter was one of the first Referees on the National Soccer League in the late 70s as well as refereeing in the top divisions in Brisbane and in the State League when it was first formed. He later became one of the first referees inducted into the FFA Football Hall of Fame. Dieter served as State President of the ASRF for over 10 years then went on to be National President. In his later years he continued to serve the referee's community as an assessor and served on many committees at local, State and National levels. His funeral service will be held at Albany Creek Memorial Park, Lakeview Chapel, 400 Albany Creek Road, Bridgeman Downs on Friday 5 April at 11.00am.
