Football Brisbane Welcomes Ripley Valley FC To Zone

Football Brisbane are pleased to welcome the latest club to join the zone with Ripley Valley FC having recently had their application to affiliate approved. Ripley Valley FC is spearheaded by someone very familiar to the Brisbane football community in Brodie Kenyon, who is President of the new entity which has been formed at Providence Parklands in South Ripley, located between Springfield and Ipswich where recent major residential development has taken place over the last few years.

Asked why the club had been formed, President Brodie Kenyon replied, "As residents of Providence (South Ripley) we could see the massive community growth in the area and wanted to make inroads for a local football team early." He added, "With the developer (Amex) starting construction on the local sporting facilities the timing was perfect. We all agreed it would be great to just walk down and watch the kids of the community kick a ball around, and maybe become the next generation of football stars."

On joining the Football Brisbane Zone, Brodie explained, "The club truly appreciates Football Brisbane accepting our club in to the association, and for all of the support already provided by the FB management team." He continued, "Members of our club committee are proud to have been associated with the zone as part of other clubs for over 25 years. We are excited to have this opportunity to see our local kids come through the same pathway and potentially into FQ pathways in the future." He also added, "The team at Football Brisbane are fantastic to deal with and make our jobs a lot easier, and we hope it will be a long lasting relationship." When asked about the immediate aims of the club and what Ripley Valley FC's longer term goals were, Brodie explained, "With Football Brisbane association as a solid foundation we now have plenty of work to do to build our grassroots club for the future. The club won’t be wasting any time in establishing a competitive Vilic Law Capital League 3 men’s side, as well as an ALDI MiniRoos program for the juniors." He added, "Long term, Ripley Valley FC will have juniors competing as part of Football Brisbane, as well as additional senior sides of different grades. The club will grow into its new facilities and work on developing them for greater capacity for seasons to come."
