Rafe Griffin Appointed As Incoming Football Brisbane General Manager
Following the recent recruitment process, the Football Brisbane Board of Directors has appointed Rafe Griffin as the new General Manager of Football Brisbane to replace Craig Morris who has taken up the role of General Manager – Competitions and Referees at Football Queensland. Griffin comes to the role having been the Operations Manager at the organisation for the past two years and prior to that, twenty years project management experience in the federal public service delivering major government projects. The new appointee reflected on his promotion saying, “It’s a privilege to head football in Brisbane and I thank the board for their trust in me to take on such an important position." He added, "I look forward to working with all of our clubs, players, coaches, volunteers and referees in continuing to deliver the best service we can to our participants and making it fun to kick a football around on a weekend.” Football Brisbane Chairman, Michael Bailey said, “Rafe is already a familiar face to many in the local football community through his media work and this appointment ensures a smooth transition during what is a challenging time for Football Brisbane." Mr Bailey continued, "He was heavily involved in our move to Logan Football Complex as well as guiding the transition of the Football Brisbane competitions restructure as a result of the implementation of changes in the NPL, NPLW and FQPL. He knows the current football landscape and what is required to deliver the our recently released five-year Strategic Plan.” The Chairman also paid tribute to the outgoing Morris, expressing, “On behalf of my fellow directors, we’d like to thank Craig for his services to Football Brisbane over a number of years. We wish him all the best in his new role but he won’t be totally lost to us as Football Brisbane will continue to work closely with him at Football Queensland.”
