North Lakes Mustangs To Join Football Brisbane Zone
Football Brisbane is pleased to announce a new entrant to the zone with North Lakes Mustangs Football Club joining Football Brisbane competitions in 2019. Founded in 2006, the club has experienced exponential growth in recent years, which will add over 600 participants to Football Brisbane competitions. The club is also a long term supporter of the Brisbane Paralympic Football Program with its founder Jay Larkins a Mustangs Hall of Fame and Life Member. Football Brisbane General Manager Craig Morris said, “After many months of engaging with the stakeholders involved, it gives me great pleasure to welcome North Lakes Mustangs into the Football Family." He added, "Both The Lakes Football Club & The Mustangs have delivered impressive growth over the past three years which was a factor when considering the application. As the North Lakes region continues to experience significant growth, We look forward to the expansion of football in this region over the coming years." "The Mustangs application was both professional and detailed, covering all aspects that we expect of a successful club.” Mustangs FC President Chris McMahon noted, “It has been a truly amazing transformation for this club." He added, "Just three years ago a clear decision was made to establish a strong, multi-level plan driving the club we wanted it to become, the growth needed for our members amd the community brand for which we stand today." "In 2007 we started as a 10 team club and our growth now exceeds 500% since that time – we have almost doubled membership in the last three years and established club record sponsorship plus performance levels. This is a great opportunity for our players, families and supporters. We will further enhance our football methodologies with key announcements shortly to drive both coach and player growth.
