Football Brisbane Welcomes New Board of Directors At Recent AGM

At its Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday night, six Directors were elected to the Football Brisbane Ltd Board of Directors.
Returning to the board is Glen Brown who will act as Chair until an election of a new Chair is made at the new board’s first meeting, scheduled to take place in a fortnight.
Glen is the current President of Eastern Suburbs with 43 years of involvement in local football. He is the current CEO of Reside Communities and in the past, has held senior roles as the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Retirements at FKP (Now Aveo) as well as Retire Australia where he was the CEO and Head of Development.
The other previous board member returning is Peter Crethary, who is also a current committee member at Rochedale Rovers. Outside of football, Peter is a partner at law firm Moray and Agnew and practices primarily in administrative and compensation law for both government and private practices. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws (LLB, LLM) and has practised as a lawyer for over 25 years.
Another familiar face is former Football Brisbane President, Michael Bailey.
A retired school teacher, he is also the current President of Oxley United Football Club and has identified rising power and maintenance costs; player, coach and referee retention; junior development and clubs competing for a limited pool of grants as amongst the priorities for the new board to focus on.
Many in the Brisbane football community will know Roger McIntosh as the most recent past-President of Mitchelton Football Club, occupying that position for five years. A physiotherapist, he established his own business, North-West Physiotherapy in 1996 at Everton Park which in recent years has expanded to Keperra and Eatons Hill, employing a total of 21 staff. The business has won numerous awards at both a local and national level.
Graham Mapri holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and is the Principal of ADG Engineering. Graham has coached at a number of football clubs at both senior and junior level and was a previous board member and junior football chairperson at Mt Gravatt Hawks Football Club. He is also a life member and current President of Wynnum-Manly Cricket Club where he has played for 26 seasons.
Jeremy Medina is the Customer Experience Officer – Retail at Flight Centre Travel Group and boasts substantial business experience in the areas of marketing, finance, partnerships and technology.
Jeremy’s previous work included roles at multi-national companies Caesar’s Entertainment, Echo Entertainment Group (now known as Star Entertainment Group) and InvoCare. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Finance and Economics as well as a Master of Business Administration in Marketing. He is passionate about junior football, coaching his children at AC Carina and is still active as a player in over 35s football.
