Football Queensland today announced the retirement of Geoff Foster as Chief Executive Officer and the appointment of his successor, Richard Griffiths who has been in the Chief Operating Officer role since September 2017. President of Football Queensland, Greg Redington, said Mr Griffiths was an exceptional leader whose knowledge of the Queensland sporting landscape would provide a strong vision for the organisation. “As an experienced CEO, Richard brings a wealth of leadership and governance experience and I am confident our game is in the very best of capable hands.” said Mr Redington. Also announced was the appointment of current Football Brisbane President Brendon Boss, as Football Queensland’s General Manager - Football Operations and Second-In-Charge to Mr. Griffiths. The current Football Brisbane board of Jitendra Prasad, Glen Brown and Peter Crethary wish Brendon well in his new role and thank him for his contribution to the zone during his tenure. “Brendon has been an integral part of the progression of Football Brisbane over the past few years. His knowledge and experience at grassroots level has allowed us to focus on key delivery areas to assist our clubs and grow their success. This has set Football Brisbane on a positive course for the future” said Mr Brown. With Mr Boss taking up a role at Football Queensland, he will resign from the board of Football Brisbane before his start at FQ on 5 February 2018.
