Pride To Field ALDI MiniRoos In 2018

PlayStation4 NPL club Western Pride are set to field ALDI MiniRoos in 2018 with a plan to field teams in U9, U10, U11 and U12 Boys competition and potentially also an U9/10 girls team. Western Pride Technical Director Gabor Ganczer said, “They will be our development teams in the skill acquisition phase of Pride's junior academy and we will be voluntarily capping our Football Brisbane participation to one team only in each age group to keep good standards.” General Manager Pat Boyle explained their decision to join Football Brisbane in these age groups by saying, “We would like to provide a great game day experience for our youngest development teams and knowing the excellent Komodo level Football Brisbane administers, they will guarantee the required level for us. The other reason is that Western Pride offers professional coaching services for players in Brisbane's western corridor who may play their youth football at other local clubs in the future; therefore we would like to create a healthy development pyramid for an increasing number of young players here in Ipswich.” Asked about Pride’s longer term objectives, Mr Boyle added, “We are not alone in assuming our responsibility to develop more skillful footballers for the region, but we work closely with our partner clubs, namely Springfield United, Ipswich City Bulls, Ipswich Knights, Moggill SC and Colleges United.” He added, “We would never jeopardise their progress in their respective competitions, but we are their representative outlet. They will feed some Under 8 players into our academy and they will get back more skillful footballers when players are not selected for NPL at the age of 13.” Mr Ganczer summarised the benefits of joining Football Brisbane and how it is hoped to help improve the standard in the region; “It will give us the opportunity to create the right talent pool. When the players skill acquisition phase has finished, around the age of 13, they have to be ready for further challenges.” He added, “We will be able to select 16 to 18 players for NPL football from a larger high profile pool within our academy and potentially also invite external regional players we have identified at their community clubs for our closed trials. We would like to see all players stay in Ipswich and play in the FQPL or the next best level in the Football Brisbane competitions locally if they are not selected for PS4 NPL level.”
