Football Brisbane are excited to announce that it has partnered with Australian FIFA League to promote and support the Football Brisbane Junior FIFA Cup.
E-Sports is a global sensation with some of Europe’s biggest clubs employing full time professionals to compete on their behalf. Most recently, Melbourne City FC have acquired the services of Marcus Gomes, Australia’s #1 ranked FIFA player. Marcus represented City at the recent Interactive World Cup in London. Football Brisbane General Manager Craig Morris said, “We are excited to partner with Australian FIFA League and look forward to the upcoming tournaments at our various host clubs.”
He added “FIFA have acknowledged the legitimacy of E-Sports by facilitating Interactive world cups, and the opportunity to promote tournaments at the local level and be a part of this growing market was of great interest for us.” Qualifying tournaments will be played in a World Cup format with 16 players per venue playing in 4 groups of 4 players. The top 2 from each group will go through to the knockout rounds with quarter, semi and grand finals being played to crown a winner. Matches will be held at 7 clubs over 2 weekends in late November and early December with the finals being held on December 17th. Australian FIFA League’s Gareth Symon stated “We are pleased that Football Brisbane has come on board to promote the Junior FIFA Cup. We are going to great lengths to ensure that the players and spectators alike have a fantastic experience at our events, including live streaming, commentary, interviews, music, prizes and more. We have already run successful events through our FIFA Pub tournaments across Brisbane and we can’t wait to see Junior players in action.” Win $1,000 sponsorship deal for your team. The winner of the Football Brisbane Junior Cup will win a $1,000 sponsorship deal from the AUFL for the 2018 season.
