Strikers To Field ALDI MiniRoos In 2018

With a new era for the game in Queensland around the corner, Football Brisbane welcomes a familiar name to its list of clubs with Brisbane Strikers set to field ALDI MiniRoos teams in 2018. It will be a new venture in the game for Strikers who have only previously been involved with running SAP (Skill Acquisition Programs) for the Under 11 and Under 12 age groups. This will see Strikers having ALDI MiniRoos teams from Under 9s to the modified format for Under 12s, taking part in Football Brisbane administered games. Asked what prompted Strikers to move into ALDI MiniRoos next season, club CEO Bruce Dinsdale replied, “We want to deliver the opportunity for more players of these development ages to train under our qualified academy coaches' guidance and then play as a squad on weekends. Consistency of our coaching programs and its messages is maintained, whilst player development is able to be monitored more closely for the individual player.” Mr Dinsdale said, “We employ three head SAP coaches and have four more working towards appropriate accreditation, so we have the capacity to use their knowledge and expertise to train more players. This also gives us an excellent player/coach ratio and therefore the capacity to get more younger players in skill acquisition training programs, plus widen their opportunities to be coached by these high quality coaches. If demand is sufficient we can add additional age groups/squads each year to keep increasing the number of players exposed to the quality training programs we provide.” “Joining Football Brisbane in MiniRoos will allow the club to provide more consistent training for more players and allow our coaches to implement their knowledge and improve their experience too.” he said. He adds, “It will help us improve facilities and generate efficient use of extra Strikers' development resources such as the High Performance Unit, sports science and player welfare programs that we currently have available.” Naturally there’s longer term objectives with Brisbane Strikers aiming at developing their juniors from an earlier age, all the way through to senior level. Mr Dinsdale explains, “Training more players to learn the core skills at early as possible age groups helps develop better youth players and senior players in the long term, at all levels of football. The consistency and standard of coaching being made available to young players through this participation in Football Brisbane will assist in developing them to the best level they can be. It will also allow the club to continue to invest in coaching, facilities and resources by delivering them more efficiently.”
