Flight Centre To Fly Jacqui To Tanzania

Brisbane based Referee Jacqui Hurford will be setting off to Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro this Thursday to join two teams of female players climbing to the top of Africa's tallest mountain, before descending to 5,785 metres where the world’s highest ever game of competitive football will be played as part of the ‘Equal Playing Field’ campaign. Jacqui has been very generously supported by Football Brisbane partner Flight Centre, who are looking after Jacqui’s flights to Tanazania. Flight Centre’s Jeremy Medina explained what it means to them in supporting the cause, “Flight Centre Travel Group believe in and practice the message of equality. We have several programs internally to support women in the workplace. We believe this was a great way to support a fantastic person and and great cause which aligns with our values.” He added, “Flight Centre Travel group are excited with the concept as it brings together three areas which we are passionate about: Equal opportunity for women, support for one of our partners (Football Brisbane) and an incredible travel experience which is Flight Centre's expertise.” Jacqui expressed her gratitude of Flight Centre, "It is fantastic that Flight Centre is on board with sponsoring my flights for the Guinness World Record (attempt for the highest altitude game of football). Their core values line up with what we (Equal Playing Field) are trying to achieve with this venture." She added, "Flight Centre is already ahead of the pack in regards to equality in their workplace. They believe their people have the right to belong to a Team (family), a Village, an Area (tribe) and Nation (hierarchy), that will provide them with an exciting future and a supportive working community. They believe their team members should have the right to see a clear pathway to achieving their career goals, and that each individual should have equal privileges and rights. Jacqui concluded, "That’s why they see value in this great cause and in what we - 'Equal Playing Field' are trying to achieve." Mr Medina reiterated Flight Centre's support for the game and the Football Brisbane community in general by saying, "Football is played worldwide and travel plays a significant role in the game. Consequently, we are very proud to support Football Brisbane and their associated clubs though many different channels. This support at the association levels ranges from coordinating the transportation for Football Brisbane's Spain Tour to man of the match awards for the Flight Centre Premier League. Additionally, we have been supporting clubs and their members with travel discount vouchers for bookings as well as direct bookings and travel for club teams and players." He added, "Jacqui's sponsorship is another way we are investing in and supporting the largest sporting community in Australia."
