With cooler autumnal climes now here, the weekend produced a glut of goals and some big wins for clubs. But we've picked out the five things that caught our eye from the latest round of action. #1: It rained goals at the weekend as we had some big scoreline throughout the premier competitions and we couldn't help but take a look at the totals. Across the Flight Centre Premier League, Mt Franklin Women's Premier League and Capital Leagues 1-4, there were 155 goals scored. That equates to 4.69 goals per game. No one can say our game is boring! The biggest winners from the weekend went Mitchelton from the Mt Franklin Women's Premier League and The Lakes from Capital League 4, both recording 8-0 victories over Pine Hills and Logan Village respectively.

#2: Have they turned a corner? Can they begin a revival of fortunes? We are of course talking about Capital League 3 side Narangba United who notched their first win of the season after eight attempts with a 2-0 away win at Tarragindi Tigers.

Perhaps as pleasingly as the win was for Coach Allan Takken, is that they kept their first clean sheet of the 2017 season as well.

#3: Although it's still early days in Capital League 4, two sides now boast 100% records and look like the title contenders with Springfield United and Samford Rangers sitting on 3 wins from 3 games each.

We'll keep an eye on these two as the season progresses along with Capital League 2's Virginia United who retained their undefeated run by defeating Western Spirit at the weekend with a 2-1 win.

#4: Rochedale Rovers now top the Flight Centre Premier League and are looking in scintillating form after a comprehensive 4-1 defeat of Albany Creek on Saturday night. Quite amazingly with the league as close as it's been for many a year, Creek slipped from 4th to 8th. But what caught our eye here was the early departure from the game of goal scorer Kado Aoci who was subbed off in the 80th minutes and who promptly headed for the gate so he could race to the hospital for the birth of his son Cadeau Junior Aoci.

#5: Lions FC returned to the winners circle at the weekend with 6-1 victory over basement dwellers Grange Thistle who recently parted company with Coach Jordi McLeod. The win was perhaps expected by many but for one player in particular the result marked a successful comeback from serious injury with Alex Schiavo netting a hat trick on Saturday night. This after he spent close to a year recovering from tearing his hamstring off the bone last season.
