Mt Franklin Women's Premier League & Women's Capital League Update

Despite earning promotion to 2017 Mt Franklin Women’s Premier League as the second-placed finishers of last year’s Women’s Capital League, Moggill has advised Football Brisbane that they will be unable to fulfil the requirements to compete in the top tier of Brisbane women’s football. As a result, Moggill will remain in the Women’s Capital League for the season ahead.

The team that were in the fourth spot to be relegated from the Mt Franklin Women’s Premier League, Olympic FC, were offered the opportunity to remain in that league as per Football Brisbane’s rules of competition. Olympic FC has decided to decline this offer.

Souths United, as the next placed finishers after Olympic FC, have accepted the offer to continue competing in the Mt Franklin Women’s Premier League. The club has made assurances to Football Brisbane that they will be able to supply sufficient players to field both a first and reserves side.

Souths United will take Moggill’s place in the Mt Franklin Women’s Premier League fixture meaning their opening match will be against 2016 runner-up Annerley on Saturday 18 March.

Moggill will take Souths United’s spot in the Women’s Capital League and will commence their season as they travel away to debutants Redcliffe PCYC on Friday 17 March.
