Flight Centre jets in for 2017
Flight Centre has recommitted their support of the future of Brisbane football by signing on for another year as Football Brisbane’s major partner.
The Brisbane-based global travel company will continue to be the naming rights sponsor for the Flight Centre Premier League encompassing the first team, reserves and under 18 competitions.
“It’s fantastic to have Australia’s leading travel provider and a global brand on board as a partner of Football Brisbane,” said Football Brisbane General Manager, Craig Morris.
“The relationship has been a strong one so far and not only do we look forward to a fruitful working partnership this year but also for many years to come,”
Jeremy Medina, Flight Centre’s Head of Partnerships said, “We’re delighted to be coming back for a second year as Football Brisbane’s major partner. Our commitment in supporting Football Brisbane takes place both on and off the field and we’re really happy with the positive relationship between both organisations.”
Clubs will also benefit from the partnership. A program is currently in development where Flight Centre will reward clubs where their members book travel through their local store. Further details of this program will be announced in coming weeks.
Flight Centre will also be the official travel provider for Football Brisbane’s annual tour of Spain, a two-week event where players aged 9-12 compete and train at some of that country’s best facilities including the Royal Spanish Football Federation Facility.
The league logo has also been updated for 2017 in line with Football Brisbane re-branding as part of its 10th anniversary. The updated logo incorporates an orange star in recognition of Lions FC being the reigning Champions of the competition.
The Flight Centre Premier League kicks off on the 18th February with the two teams that many are tipping to be title favourites, Peninsula Power hosting Lions FC in one of three matches being broadcast on FBTV on the opening weekend.
We’ll also capture Grange Thistle’s return to Brisbane’s top flight after a 20-year absence in their encounter with last year’s runner-up Mitchelton and completing the coverage will be Sunday afternoon’s match where 2016 semi-finalists Holland Park Hawks welcome Capalaba.
