Player Ins and Outs

UPDATED

We're going to try and keep you informed with who's going where in the Flight Centre Premier League with those player signings that clubs have confirmed.

Albany Creek Exclesior:

It's seems to be there's somewhat of a swapmart going on at Wolter Park with Moreton Bay Jet Jonathan Marraiya joining former team mate Royce Brownlie at Creek for 2017.

Hamish Maguire will again be donning the red and black in 2017 after recently resigning for 2017.

Royce Brownlie (from Moreton Bay Utd), goal keeper Xander Gwynn-Jones (from Moreton Bay Utd) and Jake Keslake (from North Pine) have all been signed by Creek coach Pouria Nabi.

Brownlie coming across from the Jets with a rich scoring pedigree in the PlayStation4 National Premier Leagues which should add some senior experience to the side and help develop further the talents of strikers Chom Arop and RIley Campbell. Capalaba: Justin McMullen (from Eastern Suburbs) and Patrick Crilly have joined the Bulldogs with Crilly making a return to John Fredericks Park. McMullen wasn't a regular at Easts in 2016 and is another departure from the Heath Park club along with a number of other players.

Alex Warrilow (from Sunshine Coast Fire) has also made a return to the club he started at as a junior before emerging into the senior side, scoring some memorable goals including the goal that earned him the 2014 Goal of the Year which you relive HERE (May GOTM winner). Eastern Surburbs:

Nick Robinson makes a return to Easts after sitting out 2016 recovering from a broken leg sustained in the 2015 season. If he is ready for the rigours of a Flight Centre Premier League season remains to be seen.

Jordan Farina (from Moreton Bay Utd) is one player to return to the Tigers who've seen somewhat of an exodus on completion of the 2016 season. Ryan Stenhouse is amongst the numbers moving on from Easts, with goalkeeper Tom Carroll also departing with a switch to PlayStation4 National Premier Leagues side Olympic FC.

Grange Thistle:

Richard Kessling is a new name to join Grange and could perhaps be a surprise package for 2017.

Thistle have announced a coup signing with Josh Ahern heading to Lanham Park from Peninsula Power, adding premier league experience to the squad.

Ryan Adamson has also made a return to Lanham Park.

Powerful striker Caleb Mayberry will ply his trade in the premier league in 2017 as he too announces his return to Thistle for the season ahead.

Matt Hornby and Brodie Ireland have both made their intentions known with a return in 2017 for Thistle.

One we omitted to add recently but one that will be of huge importance to Thistle, is the signing of goalkeeper Matty Carr from Holland Park Hawks. The vocal Scot will add experience to the defensive unit.

Thistle have also retained players Jason Hayden and Andrew Shepherd for 2017.

Another three players have been confirmed as returning to Thistle next season with Sam Xinis, Justin Harris and Guy Bimrose ready for premier league action.

Three more players from the 2016 promotion campaign have resigned with Jake Taylor, Stuart Somerville and Ned Bowden committing to Thistle for 2017.

Zach Symons has resigned with Thistle after being a big part of their success in 2016.

The promoted side from Capital League 1 have recruited former Rochedale Rovers and Olympic FC striker Tim Smits. Holland Park Hawks: Jeff Woodward has resigned for 2017 to help bolster the defensive ranks. Andrew MacAskill, Marek Madle and captain Dan Smith have all pledged their futures to the Hawks in 2017 with Smith's brother Anth to take charge as coach after Ben Ryan stepped down to take on an Assistant Coach role at Peninsula Power.

Ipswich Knights:

Brodie 'Red' Kenyon' has joined with his former coach Graham Ross after a very short retirement. Kenyon left Western Spirit midway through 2016 to join Lions FC to help contribute to their league title.

Not much in the way of player news but perhaps the bigger news is the coaching personnel who'll be leading Knights into the 2017 season.

With Stuart Drinkeld stepping down, Assistant Coach Danny Wilson will take the helm along with former Lions FC coach Graham Ross who makes a return to the premier league.

You can read more HERE in the QT News.

Lions FC:

There continues to be a number of players moving on from the 2017 Champions with stand out Marco Jankovic and young defender Ajdin Fetahagic heading south to play PS4 National Premier Leagues in Victoria with Bentleigh Greens and South Melbourne respectively.

Tim Morgan has also departed the Richlands club with a move to Rochedale Rovers.

The goalkeeper ranks will look quite different in 2017 too after the recent retirement of Phil Zabaks and the departure of Declan Murphy to Knights. Brandon Cuminao has however joined Lions for the 2017 season.

Logan FC:

Jackson Hall appears to have made a return to Lightning and was looking sharp in his sides recent 1-1 pre-season result against PlayStation4 NPL side Gold Coast City.

Greg Gourley and James Bonomi have both committed to the club for 2017.

Petar Kostovski, Cameron Saint, keeper Nick Moore, Anthony Rudken, captain Richard Greer and Max Brown have all been confirmed as staying on with Logan next season.

Mitchelton:

Scott Stewart from Moreton Bay Utd is new addition to Mitchelton's line up and should add some defensive prowess to their line up.

The 2016 Flight Centre Premier League runners-up have looked to retain much of their squad for 2017 with the exceptions of keeper Kevin Downes departing and central defender Jason Shade who's another player heading to Victoria, joining Port Melbourne.

Coach Leo Sirianni has brought in Linus Schibler for between the sticks from UQFC and also Scott Stewart joins the Teralba Park outfit.

Peninsula Power:

More announcements from AJ Kelly Park as Coach Aaron Philp has secured three more players for 2017 - Power's 2016 Player of the Year Trent McEvoy will again be in blue next season whilst Myles Carseldine makes a return to the club after his stint at Mitchelton this year. But perhaps one of the big names to watch next season is Jacob Fulluck who's signed for the club after a couple of seasons in the PS4 National Premier Leagues at Sunshine Coast Fire and more recently Moreton Bay Utd.

Power have announced the return of the 'Welsh Wizard', with Richard Hurlin returning to AJ Kelly Park from his native Wales. Hurlin was instrumental in Power's success in 2013 and 2014, scoring in the epic 5-0 grand final success against Wolves FC before heading home. Hurlin is renowned for his dead ball abilities and will undoubtedly be an asset for Aaron Philp's side.

Power have also recruited Mark Offer to the coaching team. Offer was in charge of Deception Bay last season in Capital League 4 and previously to that had coached Redcliffe PCYC.

Matt Boyd has recently been confirmed as a new recruit for Aaron Philp and will add some strength to the back four. Power have also confirmed the following players will be returning in 2017 - Jake Reesby, Tom Strickland and James Fairgreive who joined late last season from North Pine.

Dean Briggs has been confirmed as a new signing for Power, joining up with his former Holland Park Hawks coach Ben Ryan, whilst Daniel Cunha has joined as well from Eastern Suburbs.

Also joining Power for 2017 are two players who have already featured in the all blue strip - Myles Carseldine returns having spent 2016 at Mitchelton whilst previous talisman Richard Hurlin is back from the UK and sure to threaten heavily from dead ball situations.

The only confirmed signing is Ben Ryan coming in as assistant coach to Aaron Philp after departing Holland Park Hawks.

Rochedale Rovers:

More news from Underwood Park with a host of signings announced at the weekend...

Joining Kado Aoci will be former Eastern Suburbs captain Ryan Stenhouse, Joey Fields from Capalaba and former team mates of Aoci's at Lions in 2015 - Jason Tobin from Ipswich Knights and fellow front man Tim Morgan from Lions.

Kado Aoci has put pen to paper in a bid to regain first team action next season with Rochedale Rovers. It will be his fourth club in as many seasons for the striker.

Souths United:

It could prove to be the coup signing for 2017 with former Caltex Socceroo and A-League defender Jon McKain joining United. Having recently played in Malaysia for Kelantan FA, the 34 year old makes a return to Brisbane where he formerly played at Brisbane Strikers. His experience should prove invaluable to the Runcorn based side as they look to cement their place in the Flight Centre Premier League.

McKain will also be joined by Arturo Mojica Rodriguez from Rochedale Rovers and returning player Josh Anderson.

FB Media talk with Jon McKain at Souths United's official announcement.

From reliable sources we understand Jheison Macuace will be wearing green and white in 2017, whilst Matt Lyell has joined from Sunshine Coast Fire.
