New Home Of Football For Football Brisbane
During the last 12 months Football Brisbane has briefed clubs at recent Club’s Meetings on our progress identifying potential sporting facilities and in tendering for the management rights of the new Logan Metro Sports Precinct.
With the negotiation process now complete we are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Logan City Council. Football Brisbane will manage the newest sporting complex in Queensland boasting three full size rectangle fields along with professionally fit out change rooms, function spaces and catering facilities.
We can further advise that Brisbane Roar Football Club will also join Football Brisbane in partnering with Logan City Council with the Hyundai A-League and W-League club set to move it’s administration and operations to the city within weeks. The precinct as a whole will also boast a professionally maintained main field and changing rooms.
With infrastructure one of the key challenges for football moving forward as numbers grow, this is a massive coup for 'the World Game’. Logan has truly become the home of Football in our state with Football Queensland based at Meakin Park and now Football Brisbane and Brisbane Roar heading to the new Logan facility.
Managing the facility will allow Football Brisbane to not only offer extra services to our already growing football population in Brisbane, but assist clubs when they are in need of fields and infrastructure for special events or during field maintenance periods.
On top of this, building even better relationships with other sports and the community to promote our game and healthy lifestyles.
Part of our long-term plan at the facility is to secure funding for a premium synthetic surface through grant funding.
Of course Football Brisbane understand some clubs will avail of the facilities more than others, especially due to the geographic location, but other benefits from the complex, one being financial, will ensure all clubs are supported. This was an opportunity we could not pass by, a chance for us to secure facilities for our game and the community.
We have started working with Football Queensland and our clubs in developing reports and analytical data to Council’s and State Government to help in infrastructure development of your clubs into the future.
Our sport continues to grow in 2016 with female numbers leap-frogging Netball with more participants from ages 6-13 across the country. The FFA’s Whole of Football Plan created a bold vision with their strategic plan not far away from being presented.
I know this is a busy time at local clubs with grading, muster days and fixtures starting so I appreciate you taking the time to share this news with us. I hope to see you out at your club very soon.
